Piston kit from YSS for original motocross feather legs.
The piston kit contains a piston with ring and shims.
With this piston kit heat-induced slackening of the suspension is avoided in the factory-installed strut.
The factory pistons are made of sintered metal, the cylinder of aluminum.
These two materials have a fundamentally different temperature behavior: aluminum expands more strongly than sintered metals. This results in an excessive deviation of the tolerances during driving, the piston ring can no longer seal. The result is a noticeable power loss of the strut.
YSS offers with its aluminum piston the same material, so that the thermal properties are identical, the piston expands when driving as strong as the cylinder, the tolerances remain the same, piston rings seal off effectively. The result is a much better response, better damping. The included shims are tuned to a perfect valve function. The piston kit should be driven with the YSS MX feather tuned to the rider's weight to achieve its full potential.
