Tyre PMT Tyres Rain Racing Type R1, . Type R1, . 100/85-10', TL profile: strongly profiled, all-season tyre The Italian tyre manufacturers PMT have been producing high quality, high end tyres for the smaller wheel racing fraternity since 1990. These tyres , up till now only available in sizes suitable for Radio Controlled racing machines or pocket bikes, are now also available for scooters. PMT tyres are renowned for their extensive range of different tyre material mixtures and the various tyre tread profiles used in their manufacture, suitable for every (race) track condition. Scooter racers in Italy have already been convinced by the superior adaptability and consequently improved performances offered by the PMT range of tyres. We have PMT tyres available with the following combinations of tyre material mixture and tread pattern or profile: Slick Hard MixThe tyres for the more tougher conditions. Due to its harder tyre material mix this type of tyre wears slower than its medium or soft counterparts and is therefore more suited to longer distance or even endurance races. The disadvantage that comes with the added durability provided by this type of harder mix is that they require more time to reach their effective working temperature of 80 Celsius (°C) or 176 Fahrenheit (F). This tyre type is recommended for a (dry) track temperature of between 30 and 40 °C (86 - 104 F). Its optimal grip is achieved with a tyre pressure of 1.2 - 1.3 bar at the front end and 1.4 - 1.9 bar at the rear. Slick Medium MixThe tyres with the medium hardness of material mix are the most popular in scooter racing. Maximum grip alone is not what this tyre is about, the balance between the amount of grip and its durability is what really counts for this particular tyre compound. All this, of course, depending on the quality of the race track itself and the ambient conditions. A wide range of potential racing conditions are covered by the specifications of this tyre which makes it, more often than not, a safe bet on race days. This tyre is also happy with a (dry) track temperature of 30 - 40 °C or 86 - 104 F. Its effective working temperature however is slightly lower at 75 °C or 167 F but, similar to the harder mixture these tyres need almost as long to be worked up that far on the track. The recommended tyre pressures are 1.2 - 1.3 bar at the front and 1.4 - 1.9 bar at the rear. Slick Soft MixWant grip ? Got grip! The softest tyre material compound in this range has only one aim: To, quite literally, stick your tyres to the road! Consequently the effective working temperature is reached relatively quickly. The disadvantage of such a grippy, soft tyre compound though is that, unfortunately, they have to be replaced after every race. The recommended tyre pressures are 1.2 - 1.3 bar at the front and 1.4 - 1.9 bar at the rear. R - SlickDo we need a rain tyre or a slick ? When you aren't quite sure of the coming weather conditions over the race period this question most definetly needs answering. PMT have the solution : An intermediate compound combined with a minimalistic 'slick' type tread profile. The ' R- Slick ' is ideal for unsettled weather conditions and an important ingredient in the winning formula of many teams' race successes. The recommended tyre pressures are 1.2 - 1.3 bar at the front and 1.4 - 1.9 bar at the rear. Rain RacingTHE rain racing tyre for all forms of scooter sport ! A cleverly arranged tyre tread profile combined with the most avanced tyre material compounds available make it stand out amongst the current tyres available for wet race use. All teams that have used the PMT rain tyre have been entirely convinced by its superior qualities in the wet. We can also highly recommend this tyre for use in persistently rainy conditions and/or a wet racetrack! The recommended tyre pressures are 1.2 - 1.3 bar at the front and 1.4 - 1.9 bar at the rear. Drag RaceThanks to its wide contact surface and super soft rubber compound, this tyre is an absolute MUST HAVE for drag racers. As these rollers have infinitely more grip than your common slick tyres, they also wear out a little faster, but wheelspins are definitely a thing of the past. BlackfireRace tyre with homologation.
