This cylinder kit is ideal for racing use and it is recommended to pair it with a 60mm stroke crankshaft and heavily modified engine cases, with carburetors of Ø 30mm and above, and with a Malossi or expansion exhaust.
The MHR version differs from the SPORT version in terms of exhaust port timing and transfer port timing, which are more suited for racing.
The perfect seal is guaranteed by the alignment between the cylinder head and the cylinder, thanks to the two bushings placed on two studs and the O-ring.
It is important to use fuel taps with increased flow rate.
The Ø 68.5 aluminum cylinder was introduced in 1983 as a turning point in Vespa tuning.
Made of Nicasil-coated aluminum, with a super-light piston and 1.2mm semi-trapezoidal rings, this new cylinder immediately became a legend for all enthusiasts.
In 2008, it was updated with the addition of a hemispherical combustion chamber head and a central spark plug.
In 2013, the cylinder was completely redesigned in terms of transfer and exhaust ports, resulting in three different versions.
In 2016, a new piston with a black skirt was introduced, which offers increased strength thanks to the molybdenum sulfide treatment.
The slots in the new mold allow for a perfect fit with the latest generation of the cylinder and interchangeability with previous versions.
The revised ribs ensure a lightweight design and even greater strength.
In 2022, a flange-connector kit was introduced for connecting the exhaust, secured to the cylinder with 4 cylindrical head screws and an exhaust port sealing O-ring.
This system allows for the installation of all types of exhausts available on the market with a Ø44.5mm inlet, ensuring maximum strength and preventing loosening or rotation issues caused by vehicle vibrations.
