This thermal unit is the natural evolution of the Malossi MHR line, which has led to the victory of official teams in various cross and speed competitions.
The cylinder is made with a special alloy of aluminum with a high percentage of silicon and titanium, which guarantees high resistance to deformation at high temperatures.
Thanks to a special heat treatment of quenching and stabilization, the cylinder maintains constant its mechanical and dimensional characteristics up to temperatures of 250°C.
The machining by chip removal is carried out with numerical control machines, guaranteeing very precise dimensional and shape tolerances.
The internal surface of the cylinder is coated with silicon carbides on a nickel matrix, which gives it a very high hardness and remarkable wear resistance.
The piston is made with a special alloy with a very high percentage of silicon, guaranteeing resistance to heat and resistance to temperature variations.
The external tin coating minimizes the coefficient of friction.
The structure of the piston is reinforced to withstand the stresses imposed by a competition thermal unit, but at the same time it is light to reduce inertia forces.
The segment is made of spheroidal cast iron with high mechanical strength, with a hard chrome overlay on the contact surface to prevent wear.
The detachable Malossi head is specifically designed to ensure the disposal of heat generated by a high-power engine intended for competition.
It is composed of a head made of a special alloy of heat-treated aluminum with a high silicon content, which is directly fixed to the cylinder barrel and is bathed by the cooling liquid on its entire outer surface, ensuring a high heat exchange surface.
The head is detached from the outer walls, allowing it to follow the expansion of the cylinder.
The combustion chamber is made with numerical control machines to guarantee precise dimensional and shape tolerances.
The detachable head system is completed with a cover that ensures the sealing of the cooling liquid.
The geometry and squish of the combustion chamber have been specifically designed for use in the Scooter Speed Trophy and Scooter Cross Trophy.
