Malossi MHR TEAM aluminum thermal unit D 40 LC dismountable head

The Malossi MHR TEAM Ø 40 thermal group is a high-quality and high-performance product, ideal for riders who want to participate in National and European Trophies. This thermal group represents the evolution of the Malossi MHR line and has been developed thanks to the research of the company's technicians.

The cylinder is made with a special alloy of aluminum with a high percentage of silicon and titanium, which guarantees great resistance to high temperatures. Thanks to a special heat treatment, the material maintains its mechanical and dimensional characteristics constant up to temperatures of 250°C. The machining operations are carried out with numerically controlled machines, guaranteeing extremely precise dimensional and shape tolerances.

The internal surface of the cylinder is coated with silicon carbides on a nickel matrix, heat-treated to guarantee a very high hardness and remarkable wear resistance. The internal machining of the cylinder allows obtaining a high-quality finish on the sliding walls, with the crossing of roughness according to the angles set during the design phase.

The exhaust and transfer diagrams have been specifically studied and designed for competition, requiring a considerable commitment from Malossi technicians on static engine test benches and on race tracks.

The piston is made with a special alloy with a high percentage of silicon, guaranteeing great resistance to heat and resistance to temperature variations. The external tin coating guarantees a very low friction coefficient. The structure of the piston is reinforced to withstand the stresses imposed by a competition thermal group, but at the same time, it is lightweight to reduce inertia forces.

The ring is made of spheroidal cast iron with high mechanical strength, with a hard chrome anti-wear coating on the contact surface, rectified and lapped.

The detachable Malossi head has been specifically designed to guarantee the disposal of the heat generated by a high-power engine intended for competition. Made of a special alloy of bonified aluminum with a high silicon content, it is directly fixed to the cylinder barrel and is bathed by the cooling liquid on its entire outer surface, guaranteeing a large heat exchange surface. The head is detached from the outer walls, allowing it to follow the cylinder's expansions. The combustion chamber is made with numerically controlled machines to guarantee extremely precise dimensional and shape tolerances. The detachable head system is completed with a cover that closes the top part of the cylinder, guaranteeing the sealing of the cooling liquid.

The combustion chamber of this thermal group has been specifically designed for use in the Scooter Speed Trophy and Scooter Cross Trophy, with specific geometry and squish.
