The Malossi MHR Ø 47.6 thermal unit is a high-quality product for the competition sector.

The cylinder is made of a special alloy of aluminum with a high percentage of silicon and titanium, which gives it high resistance to deformation at high temperatures.

Thanks to the special heat treatment of tempering and stabilization, the material maintains constant its mechanical and dimensional characteristics up to temperatures of 250°C.

The machining operations are carried out with very tight dimensional and shape tolerances, guaranteeing high precision.

The internal surface of the cylinder is coated with silicon carbides on a nickel matrix, heat-treated to ensure a very high hardness and remarkable wear resistance.

The internal machining of the cylinder allows obtaining a very smooth finish on the sliding walls, thanks to the use of special machines.

The exhaust and transfer diagrams have been specifically studied and designed for competition, with a significant commitment from Malossi technicians.

The piston is made of a special alloy with a high percentage of silicon, which guarantees high resistance to high temperatures.

The external coating in tin reduces the friction coefficient.

The structure of the piston is reinforced to withstand the stresses imposed in a high-level competition, but at the same time, it is lightweight to reduce inertia forces.

The piston ring is made of spheroidal cast iron with a hard chrome coating on the outer surface.

The segments are made of spheroidal cast iron with a hard chrome anti-wear coating.

The head of the thermal unit is made of a special aluminum alloy with a high heat exchange coefficient.

The heat exchange surfaces have been recalculated and increased, and the combustion chamber has been redesigned to achieve a high compression ratio with very high turbulence.

The head is machined on numerical control machines.
