The Malossi HTQ secondary gears are characterized by a toothed fitting with a diameter of 17 mm. Made of special straight-tooth steel, these gears offer a recalculated transmission ratio. Thanks to their precision manufacturing, they are able to completely eliminate axial thrust, thus reducing stress on the bearings. Additionally, they are cemented, tempered, and ground to ensure long-lasting and quiet operation.
It is important to note that starting from 1998, Piaggio made modifications to the fitting of secondary transmission gears in its scooters, transitioning to diameters of 18 mm and 17.67 mm respectively. Since there is no precise information on the start dates of installing the new gears in different scooter models or the engine numbers to refer to, the only way to verify compatibility is to visually disassemble the gears. To facilitate those who need to replace the ratios on these scooters, we have compiled a table listing the first and second series of gears.
