The Malossi intake manifold Ø 15.5x19 inclined with a center distance of 41-47 is designed for SHA 15/15 C carburetors. This component plays a fundamental role in the process of intake of the air-fuel mixture into the engine through the reed valve. The overall performance of the engine depends on various factors, including volumetric efficiency, thermodynamic efficiency, and mechanical efficiency.

Volumetric efficiency represents the ratio between the amount of mixture introduced into the combustion chamber and the engine displacement. One of the main influences on volumetric efficiency is the friction that the fluid (air-fuel mixture) encounters during its path from the air filter to the combustion chamber. The intake manifold plays a crucial role in minimizing this loss by avoiding abrupt changes in section and sharp edges along the mixture's path.

In addition, the intake manifold acts as an accumulation lung for the fresh charge. When the reed valve closes, the mixture accumulates in the manifold, compressing against the reeds. Each manifold has a specific range of engine speeds in which it offers maximum performance (tuned manifold).

The intake manifold also has the task of connecting the carburetor to the engine crankcase or cylinder and dampening the vibrations transmitted from the crankcase to the carburetor, avoiding the emulsion of fuel and air in the carburetor float bowl.

Malossi rubber manifolds feature a composite structure, with an aluminum insert embedded in a plastic material resistant to oils and fuels. This construction ensures a rigid attachment base to the crankcase and good elasticity of the manifold body.
