This intake manifold plays a fundamental role in the overall performance of the engine. Volumetric, thermodynamic, and mechanical efficiency are the factors that determine the overall efficiency of the engine. Volumetric efficiency represents the ratio between the amount of air-fuel mixture entering the combustion chamber and the engine displacement. One of the main influences on volumetric efficiency is the friction loss that occurs during the passage of the mixture through the intake manifold.
