The viper head connecting rod is designed to minimize weight and ensure necessary rigidity. The threading of the transmission side shaft has also been improved to increase strength. The position of the key has been revised to avoid damaging the threading and contribute to overall resistance. The crankshafts are supplied with special, more resistant nuts, taking advantage of the tighter threading.

Various lengths of connecting rods are available for small frame Vespa scooters that require the full shoulder crankshaft. For engines with rotary valve intake, the crankshaft has standard stroke and connecting rod length. The intake phase has been created inside the half-shoulder, creating a unique shape that ensures extremely efficient fluid dynamics. To solve the problem of proper balancing, Malossi has included tungsten inserts as counterweights to increase the stability of the crankshaft.
