Clutch Lever LML for LML Star 125-150 4T/Star Deluxe 125 125-150 4T/Star Deluxe 125-150 4S/Speedy Clutch lever, replaces original lever on the clutch cover Vespa clutches are actuated mechanically by a clutch cable. This cable connects to the lever on the clutch cover. Once the clutch lever on the handlebar is pulled in, this lever, via the plunger pin and the pressure plate, compresses the clutch. There is a chain of components from the lever on the handlebar, to the clutch cable, the lever on the clutch cover, the plunger pin and the pressure plate, all of which are relevant for the functioning of the clutch. Only when all links of this chain are in good working order does the clutch work as it should. A worn lever or plunger may well stop the clutch from separating properly, or it can cause it to slip. Are original spare parts available? Unfortunately Piaggio has stopped producing important spare parts for many scooters. Once this happens it becomes increasingly difficult if not impossible to source these items. As a result some scooter may be off the road simply because a small and simple component is no longer available. At SIP we try to stock all components relevant to keep your scooter running. If Piaggio doesn’t make it, we search a manufacturer who does. If there isn’t one, or if the quality supplied is not up to our standards, we make it ourselves. No scooter should be off the road because a clutch lever cannot be found. XL2 Clutch Clutch lever for the final version of the Vespa Smallframe range. The XL2 clutch is not only Piaggio’s best clutch design with regard to hand strength and overall function, it also is the starting point off all modern smallframe tuning clutches. This is particularly true for the clutch cover and the compression arrangement with its geartooth lever and plunger pin construction. Courtesy to this design even a clutch with the heaviest spring can still be pulled in with little force of the left hand required. Hence the XL2 covers with their mechanicals are not only used in the XL2 engines they were designed for but in pretty much every engine where this upgrade is an option. Yet another reason for SIP to make sure the parts are actually available. XL2 clutch levers are made in two different length. The shorter one makes for more compression travel of the plunger, albeit with slightly stronger hands needed. The second version is easier to pull but does not compress the clutch as much. SIP-TIP: Best check all components relevant for the actuation of the clutch, replace worn or damaged components. Best include them with your order (pressure plate, clutch cables, plunger).###SF513-0271 (LML)
