Nowadays you need to bring at least 35-40 horses for a chance of victory at any dyno-testing duel! Nowadays road-tuned PX motors are also capable of power outputs of between 25-28 PS. Up till now the 1st choice of gearbox cogs that can handle these high levels of power have usually been those from the PX Lusso range but regrettably the quality and in particular the manufacturing tolerances delivered by some of the production firms left a lot to be desired. Yet another reason for the SIP team to get busy and contact Denis at DRT... As a result DRT have now taken on the production of the relevant original specification Lusso gearbox components: Output shaft gear cogs, primary gear cogs and the primary drive assembly cogs. These items were previously only available from DRT in either taller or shorter ratios, now though we have also made them available in ratios identical with those of the original components. All of these gearbox parts are constructed using a special steel type, precision CNC milled and tempered. This makes them suitable for heavy duty purposes with a proven record of durability. As of now, the PX gears come in even better steel that is flexible and durable at the same time. They are produced with the most precise of mechanical tolerances. They possess the same number of cog teeth as the original items which automatically makes them compatible with all the other PX gearbox components which the original parts already suit. The gear cogs can be combined with both pre-Lusso and the later Lusso gearbox types and should prove useful wherever reliability and durability are important. Conclusion: Whether your Vespa is racing or sprinting it cannot be complete without this excellent quality of gearbox component. Touring scooters can also benefit from these high-end standards. SIP-TIP: Do not forget to order a new gear selector cruciform, selector rod and fresh gearbox oil. To eliminate excess mechanical play between the cogs themselves the SIP shaft assembly spacers should also be considered.###2232315 - 2232314 (PIAGGIO)
