Due to different measuring and production processes at the V-belt manufacturers, different length specifications arise across manufacturers.
However, these differences do not affect the functionality of the belts.
Different industrial standards mean that different parameters are used to determine the length specifications.
A distinction is made between external length (Le for short), internal length (Li for short) and pitch length.
The pitch length describes the length measurement at approx. 3/4 height of the belt according to DIN 2215.
Furthermore, the belt tension specified by the vehicle manufacturer must also be included for reliable length measurement, as this is also an important factor in the production process.
Due to these different measuring methods, different V-belt dimensions from different manufacturers can occur on one and the same vehicle.
